“Three Boys Making a Snowman” (雪転がし, Yuki Korogashi) by Suzuki Harunobu, c.1767–68.
A joyful winter scene by Harunobu, one of the great masters of Edo-period ukiyo-e. Three boys build a snowman beneath a plum tree in early bloom — a delightful image of innocence, friendship, and fleeting beauty. The warmth of their play contrasts with the quiet grace of the snowy garden, capturing the gentle humour and refined charm that made Harunobu’s prints so beloved.
