A selection of works by Sidney Paget (1860 – 1908), British artist forever renown for his original illustrations that accompanied Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes stories when they were first published in the Strand magazine.

The story goes that originally Sidney Paget's brother, Walter, who was also an illustrator, have been invited to illustrate the Sherlock Holmes series, but the letter has arrived to Sidney instead - and the rest is history, as they say! His portrayal of the sleuth has become iconic, compelling all illustrators, artists and actors that came after to imitate his vision of the detective. Sherlock Holmes himself is the most portrayed human literary character in film and tv history, with Holmesian fandom spreading all over the planet (including yours truly ♥)

- This set comprises an illustration selection from the "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" and "The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes"
(including Holmes' greatest nemesis, Professor Moriarty and the iconic Reichenbach Falls illustration)
