“Making a Snow Dog” (雪の戯れ, Yuki no tawamure) by Suzuki Harunobu, c.1767–68.

A tender winter moment captured by Harunobu, showing two children shaping a snow dog while their mother looks on with quiet affection. The warm yellow background and the snow-laden pine create a tranquil harmony — a perfect balance of refinement and playfulness. Harunobu’s elegant lines and soft colours embody the grace and poetry of everyday life in Edo Japan.
