“Kameyama, Clear Weather after Snow” (亀山 雪晴, Kameyama – Sekibare) by Utagawa Hiroshige, c.1834.

From Hiroshige’s iconic series The Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō (Tōkaidō gojūsan tsugi no uchi), this print captures a dazzling winter morning after snowfall. A daimyo’s (great lord's) procession climbs the steep path toward Kameyama Castle, its rhythmic movement set against the brilliance of sunlit snow. The scene radiates calm clarity — a perfect harmony between human endeavour and the quiet splendour of nature.

The artwork is set within a festive frame of green and gold, subtly patterned with snow to complement the artwork’s serene atmosphere. The result is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and seasonal warmth — perfect for Christmas or New Year ♡

On the back, printed in Japanese calligraphy:
