Summer evening in a Kyoto restaurant, the bamboo blinds rolled up to let in the cool evening breeze. The young waitress has noticed an untrimmed candle wick flaming away in one of the paper lanterns so she diligently takes out a metal hairpin to adjust it.
The lush tropical leaf pattern on her loose summer kimono, the warm glow of lanterns in the dusk, her flawless face and elaborate hairstyle are all delicately drawn and finely detailed to convey this perfect summer night.
