Koshigaya, Musashi Province – Hiroshige Japanese Ukiyo-e Greeting Card

A large Japanese art greeting card featuring Utagawa Hiroshige's Koshigaya, Musashi Province (武蔵越かや在 / Musashi Koshigaya-zai), 1858, from his series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.

A peaceful spring landscape of peach blossom, bright yellow rapeseed flowers and the gently flowing Moto-Arakawa River, with Mount Fuji rising beyond the fields. Hiroshige balances the vivid foreground colours with the distant mountain to create a wonderfully fresh, spacious view of the countryside beyond Edo.
