"Meguro Drum Bridge and Sunset Hill" (目黒太鼓橋夕日の岡) by Utagawa Hiroshige, 1857.

A sweeping view over two landmarks, the Meguro bridge and the Sunset Hill, a characteristic piece for Utagawa Hiroshige, the master of almost cinematic compositions. The sky deepens into the indigo darkness, as boundless as the inky Meguro river and snowy plains, running away to the horizon. The bridge is punctuated by human figures, distance between them emphasising the solitude and quiet tranquility of the snowy scene.
