A calligraphy of one of Japan's most beautiful expressions.

"Ichi-go Ichi-e" could be translated as "one chance in a lifetime", "the kind of thing that only happens once". This expression is linked with Zen Buddhism and concepts of transience and is particularly associated with the Japanese tea ceremony - even when the same group of people can get together again, a particular gathering will never be replicated and thus each moment is always once-in-a-lifetime.
