“Fujikawa: Sanchū Yamanaka no Sato Miyajiyama” (藤川 山中の里宮路山, Fujikawa – Sanchū Yamanaka no Sato Miyajiyama) by Utagawa Hiroshige, 1855.

A serene winter landscape from Hiroshige’s later years, showing travellers walking through a snow-covered village along the Tōkaidō road. The soft sweep of the river and the quiet rhythm of the rooftops draw the viewer into a world of stillness and light. Snow settles gently on the trees and houses, capturing the peaceful beauty of rural Japan beneath a pale winter sky.
