Every Good Wish for Your Christmas – Victorian Christmas Card

A wonderfully weird Victorian Christmas card featuring four solemn frogs standing beneath red umbrellas in the rain, dressed (only) in boots and bearing the rather more cheerful greeting Every Good Wish for Your Christmas.

Dating from around 1885, the design is a wonderfully deadpan example of Victorian Christmas humour. Quite why four well-booted frogs have assembled in the rain with matching umbrellas is left entirely unexplained — and their distinctly unimpressed expressions make the festive good wishes all the more charming.

Carefully restored from the original Victorian card, the design preserves the colour, character and wonderfully peculiar details of the period artwork.

Printed in rich colour on silk-finish art card, giving the original illustrations depth and vibrancy while retaining their vintage character. Each card comes with a deep green envelope, chosen to complement the rich reds, aged creams and period colours of the artwork.

Printed in the UK using eco-friendly toner on card made from sustainably sourced pulp and produced as part of the Carbon Capture Programme.
