“Kasumigaseki in Snow” (霞が関の雪, Kasumigaseki no Yuki) by Utagawa Hiroshige II, 1862.

From the series Thirty-six Views of the Eastern Capital (Tōto sanjūrokkei), this graceful winter scene shows a snow-covered street in Edo’s Kasumigaseki district. Figures in straw raincoats and umbrellas ascend the slope between houses, while pine trees shimmer white against the darkening sky. Hiroshige II captures the quiet beauty of a city transformed by snow — serene and full of gentle light.

The artwork is set within a festive frame of deep teal and red, subtly imprinted with "asanoha" pattern, to complement the artwork’s serene atmosphere. The result is a harmonious blend of traditional Japanese aesthetics and seasonal warmth — perfect for Christmas or New Year ♡

On the back, printed in Japanese calligraphy:
