A Birthday greeting card with a ukiyo-e print of outstanding beauty, chosen and printed with love ｡.:*♡
All-over background print using traditional Japanese pattern elements, with the name of the artist and title of the artwork printed on the back of the card.

"Cooling off at Shijō" (四条納涼, alterantive title 月百姿), by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi, 1885.
From the series "One Hundred Aspects of the Moon"

Shijō was a fashionable restaurant area in Kyoto, situated along the Kamo River. On a hot summer evenings the river banks were a popular place to cool off and watch the full moon.
A pretty waitress is depicted here, sitting in a playful pose, little white foot in the water and her red juban undergarment on show in a rather risqué way.
The large lantern beside her bears the crest of her teahouse and her summer robe has the pattern of 'chidori' (sea plover bird), the emblem of the geisha from Kyoto’s Pontochō entertainment district.
