Valentina Tereshkova is not only the very first female cosmonaut, but even up to this day she holds the record as the only woman ever to have been on a solo space mission!

On June 16th 1963, the spacecraft Vostok 6 took Tereshkova to the designated orbit. She spent three days in space, orbiting the earth 48 times, logging valuable data and skilfully overcoming the technical difficulties that arisen during the challenging flight.

The design features Tereshkova's official call name "Seagull" ( the call sign "I am Seagull!" is written in Russian at the top).
